PETER FARMER

With over 30 years of experience in musculoskeletal & sports physiotherapy, Peter brings profound clinical expertise in the areas of spine care, neck pain and headache, including migraine-related disorders. He his currently undertaking his PhD at the University of Queensland, helping to improve the care of migraine and neck related headaches. Peter combines decades of hands-on clinical experience with contemporary, evidence-based physiotherapy to deliver high-quality, expert care.

Peter takes a patient-centred approach, placing strong emphasis on understanding each individual’s presentation, identifying underlying contributors to pain and dysfunction, and developing clear, tailored treatment plans. His work is informed by his extensive research background and current PhD studies through the University of Queensland, where he is investigating the effectiveness of specialised physiotherapy strategies for migraine management.

Peter utilises a range of treatment modalities including detailed clinical assessment, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, acupuncture, movement retraining and patient education. His goal is not only to reduce pain and restore function, but to empower patients with practical strategies that support long-term resilience and self-management.

Outside the clinic, Peter balances the demands of his PhD with an active lifestyle on the Mid North Coast. He enjoys surfing, CrossFit and mountain trekking—including expeditions to Nepal—which continue to inform his understanding of movement, performance and recovery across a wide range of activity levels.
