Peter Farmer

Peter joins the Specialist Physiotherapy Forster team with over 30 years of dedicated musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice and a strong research background. Peter brings a wealth of experience in treating complex and chronic muscle and joint problems, particularly neck and headache-related disorders.

Hiss practice blends advanced clinical assessment with evidence-based intervention. He uses his background in research (he is currently completing a PhD through the Neck and Head Research Unit at The University of Queensland investigating the effects of his unique physiotherapy strategies for treating migraine) alongside hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and self-management education.

He works extensively with patients experiencing :

- Headaches and migraines

 - Neck pain and dysfunction (whiplash, cervical disc injury, posture‐related issues)

 - Low back pain and lumbar radiculopathy, disc bulges and facet joint dysfunction

- Active‐lifestyle injuries (runners, swimmers, cyclists, surfers) and CrossFit-related issues (shoulder impingement, muscle strain, stress fracture)

Complex musculoskeletal cases where the cause is multi-factorial and standard treatments haven’t fully resolved the issue .

Peter emphasises understanding the problem, finding root causes, and equipping his clients with practical strategies for long-term resilience. Whether you’re recovering from an acute injury or managing a long-standing condition, he offers specialist-level care in a patient-centered manner.
