vestibular rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation is a targeted approach to help people who experience dizziness, vertigo, balance problems or unsteadiness. It involves a personalised plan of exercises and strategies designed to reduce symptoms, improve stability and support confidence in everyday movement. This type of care is suitable for anyone whose balance system is not working as well as it could be, regardless of cause.

At Spine & Sport Forster, we assess and treat you to reduce dizziness, improve balance, and help you feel steady and confident again.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

Common BPPV symptoms include:

How physiotherapy helps BPPV

BPPV is one of the most common causes of vertigo and occurs when tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear become displaced. This can cause brief but intense episodes of dizziness, often triggered by changes in head position such as rolling over in bed, looking up, or bending down.

- Sudden spinning sensations (vertigo)
- Dizziness when turning in bed or getting up
- Nausea associated with head movement
- Feeling off balance after episodes

BPPV can often be effectively treated using specific repositioning techniques designed to move the crystals back to where they belong. These treatments are gentle, targeted, and based on your individual assessment. Our team will also  include balance exercises and advice to help reduce symptoms and restore confidence with movement.
